I have an indescribable connection to the ocean, a great lake even a babbling brook. It is where I can breathe life into my thoughts and my soul with just one breath. I must have been a mermaid in a past life! Spring is here in our part of the world and we were so blessed to enjoy 16 degrees Celsius with warm sunshine today! I recently took this picture and the warm sunshine today reminded me that summer is just around the corner and will be here before we know it! Days at the beach, in the water and having such a wonderful carefree time! In an effort to stop myself from rushing through every day and enjoy the moment that is spring, I sat on my front porch with the sun shining on my face and meditated for half an hour. It was so warm and when I opened my eyes I could have sworn I saw clouds smiling. I don’t remember the last time I felt so alive and so full of energy! Life is so beautiful, happy and laughing!
As an after note, I am challenging myself to blog something that makes me happy and laughing every day for 30 days! 🙂
I know, I know! I keep saying I’m going to be more frequent in my blog posts and then I disappear for months! I’m sorry! I did, however, recently found my mojo for writing again! SO Happy!! Amazing what clearing out your clutter does for your soul! I have so many wild ideas for change regarding my blog, a website I want to launch which will include workshops I’ve been working on, and of course, writing, writing and more writing! Someone I know once said: “We build trust through performance”. Those words ring true for me now as I set on a new writing journey and hopefully build your trust! Hope you all come along for the ride. Not sure if I’m going to keep this blog specifically, revamp it or start fresh when I connect it to my website but I will certainly keep you posted along the way! Until next time (which will not be in months from now! LOL)! Hope to see you soon! Please subscribe to stay up to date on news and novelties on all things Happy and Laughing!
I hope everyone had a great and happy thanksgiving weekend!!
I’m very happy I got a lot of likes regarding the handmade gratitude journal on Facebook and pintrest! I’m a little disappointed that no one left any comments 😦 …that’s OK!
I’m still happy regardless and I still randomly chose a winner from the likes pile!
Lucky winner is Carm D! Check your inbox! I’ll be emailing you with details!
Until next time! Hope everyone is happy and laughing!!
We’re already into October and for those of us who live in the northern hemisphere, it brings with it the promise of changing colours of leaves everywhere. That also means that winter and the snowy season is not that far behind. OK let’s slow down and enjoy the now for a moment!
Thanksgiving is one of my most favourite holidays! Not for the stuffing (because I’m gluten intolerant), not for the turkey (because I really don’t fancy turkey all that much), not for the pumpkin pie (can’t handle the sugar too well either) but for the all the blessings in my life that I am grateful for!!
I am so grateful my parents immigrated to Canada from Greece. I happen to think it’s the most amazingly incredible country in the world (no offense to anyone not living here – it’s just my opinion, maybe I’m biased! LOL)
I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had offered to me by this amazing land…the true north, strong and free…opportunities for education, for work, a land not ravaged by war..I could go on and on…but I’m sure we all have our long lists of things we’re grateful for.
I am so grateful for my family who without their love and support for one another would render me not so happy and laughing.
The beginning of Thanksgiving weekend for me is always a time when I start a new gratitude journal and for anyone who read the last post..I promised a free goodie!! No strings attached!! I just want to share my journals with you! I have posted a pic below and will be randomly choosing 1 lucky winner on Canadian Thanksgiving Monday!
All you have to do is subscribe to my blog and leave a comment! Thanks!
Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!!
***(paper used for the journal is from Marion Smith Designs – I absolutely LOVE her papers)***
Almost a year has gone by since my last post! I haven’t spent any time at all doing anything I enjoy. I worked a crazy amount of hours. I didn’t take any time for self-care. End result: I’m tired, I’m sad, I’m craving creative time, I need ME time, I need quiet time…. That was me up until about a month ago!!
Having said that, I am very grateful, I had an amazing job working with amazing people doing amazing things on an international level! I am grateful we lived closer to our hometown and were able to see our family more often! I am grateful that I got to know what I’m about and the strength I had inside that I had no idea was there before.
We have since moved back to my favorite city, Toronto! I am so grateful for the beautiful space I have in our home to create! I love to paint, I love to scrapbook, I love to write, I love to draw…ok you get the point! I need to do those things to decompress, to breathe, to hear my thoughts, especially the ones that bring to life beautiful works of art.
Thank you for listening to my rambling!!
I am going to make it a point to blog at least once a week (if not more) because it MAKES ME HAPPY AND LAUGHING!!
Stay tuned for a special offer coming on the next post….
(Psst, I’m going to have a draw for a handmade journal..for freeeeee!!)
Happy New Year to one and all! New goals, new dreams… Which ones will make it on this year’s list? Which ones will make it on your long term list and which outrageous dreams are too scary to even put on a list? We all have them; those dreams that whisper to us when we think we’re not listening. Dreams that scare us so much we wish we had the courage to accomplish and yet back down when given the opportunity to shine.
Michelangelo said: “The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.”
To that, I say: achieve your smaller goals and get inspired to do more. Baby steps! Write down the dreams that scare you, the ones you don’t think are possible and open your mind up to the possibility that at some point throughout the next 365 days (minus 9), the universe will drop ideas in your lap to help you fulfill them! Maybe it will take longer than this year to get it done but the way I see it, the time will pass regardless!
For all my Canadian friends reading this: There’s no CAN’T in CANADA – just CAN!!!
Hello there! I have dropped from the face of the earth to seriously pursue my writing career! Kind of juxtaposed considering that’s what a blog is for: WRITING!! So let me rephrase that!! I have dropped from the face of the earth to focus on completing the first draft of my first novel! It’s been a busy year trying to spend quality time at my craft and I am very happy with the results!! I am currently writing a novel about my grandmother’s life and her experiences during Nazi occupied Athens and how they survived hiding Greek Jews in a tiny crawl space. It’s not the first story about these times and I am sure it will not be the last; this is just another perspective…A love story in fact! A love for her soul mate, a love for people and a love for her country! I am happily dancing around holding my first draft in my hands!! Perhaps I will include a small excerpt in upcoming weeks! Progress is good!
